Day 1: Landing in Arrecife
Pick up rental & City Walk
Car Rental at ACE Airport
Pick up your rental car (Cicar or AutoReisen are local favorites). Drive 10 mins to Arrecife or your base accommodation.
Charco de San Ginés
Walk around the 'Charco', a picturesque saltwater lagoon in Arrecife filled with small fishing boats. Grab tapas at a waterfront bar.
Day 2: The Fire Mountains
Timanfaya National Park
Timanfaya Bus Tour
Drive to the 'Islote de Hilario'. Online reservation is mandatory (since 15 Jun 2026), with no on-site ticket sales—reserve a timed slot in advance. Watch the guides pour water into geysers that explode instantly. Take the included bus tour through the lunar landscape (private cars aren't allowed on the crater route).
El Golfo (Green Lagoon)
Drive to the coast to see the 'Lago Verde' (a bright green crater lake) contrasting against black sand. Stop at Los Hervideros to see waves crashing into lava caves.
Day 3: Volcano Wine Tasting
La Geria Valley
Bodega Hopping
Drive through La Geria, where vines are buried in conical pits of black ash (zocos). Visit Bodega La Geria or El Grifo for a glass of crisp Malvasía Volcánica.
Caldera Blanca Hike (Optional)
If you are energetic, hike to the rim of Caldera Blanca (approx 3 hours) for the best views of the lava fields.
Day 4: Papagayo Beaches
Relaxation Day
Playa de Papagayo
Enter the Los Ajaches Natural Park via the dirt track; the charge is €3 per car (card accepted; sometimes only collected in summer). Choose your cove—Papagayo is the most famous, but Playa Mujeres is larger and less crowded.
Playa Blanca Promenade
Head into the town of Playa Blanca. Walk the seafront promenade and grab an early dinner with views of Fuerteventura across the water.
Day 5: The North & César Manrique
Caves & Viewpoints
Jameos del Agua
Visit Manrique's masterpiece—a collapsed lava tube turned into an underground auditorium and pool. Look for the tiny blind albino crabs in the water.
Mirador del Río
Drive north to the Mirador del Río (also by Manrique). The view looking down over the island of La Graciosa is arguably the best in the Canaries.
Day 6: Surfers & Cliffs
Famara & Teguise
Teguise Market (Sunday) or Old Town
Explore Teguise, the old capital. If it's Sunday, the huge market is on. If not, enjoy the quiet, historic cobbled streets.
Caleta de Famara
Drive to the wild west coast. The massive cliffs of Risco de Famara tower over the surfer village. Walk the beach at low tide for incredible mirror reflections.
Day 7: Adios Lanzarote
Final moments
César Manrique Foundation (Tahíche)
If you have time before your flight, visit Manrique's former home, built into five volcanic bubbles. The Fundación César Manrique is a separate, non-CACT entity. A perfect end to the trip.
